News about the GLADIATOR EU project: Graphene as an ITO alternative

At the beginning of the year, we reported that the GLADIATOR consortium started the GLADIATOR research project in November 2013. The goal of GLADIATOR (Graphene Layers: Production, Characterization and Integration) is to improve the quality and size of CVD graphene layers within 42 months. In addition, production costs are to be reduced.

Graphene as an alternative to indium tin oxide

GLADIATOR is targeting the global market for transparent electrodes and wants to show through this project that graphene is a good alternative to ITO (indium tin oxide).

At the International Symposium on Flexible Organic Electronics Conference in Thessaloniki in July 2014, Dr. Beatrice Beyer from the GLADIATOR consortium gave a lecture on the concrete goals of GLADIATOR.

In the presentation, she will discuss what the GLADIATOR project is, how it will be implemented, what their vision of transparent electrodes looks like, how the market for transparent electrodes will develop until 2020 and how the production of graphene will continue. It also addresses points such as quality assurance, process reliability and proof of concept.
