Specialist in glass film glass touch technology
Press release

Interelectronix's patented glass film glass GFG touch technology, also known as ULTRA, is particularly robust and scratch-resistant. It is accordingly suitable for kiosk systems, harsh industrial environments, construction machinery. The glass surface increases reliability and chemical resistance, especially relevant in the medical and chemical environment.

Interelectronix based in Hofolding near Munich, Germany, is committed to GFG ULTRA resistive touchscreen technology and, with its patented glass film glass construction, delivers an exceptionally robust touch system that offers several advantages over conventional resistive technology. It is based on the patented GFG ULTRA technology. This original is only available at Interelectronix. Based on this technical innovation, Interelectronix focuses on the customer-specific implementation for the respective project.

Interelectronix has its own development departments with highly qualified engineers and technicians. Christian Kühn, Managing Director of Interelectronix: "We rely on patented technologies and a highly qualified development team in the field of touchscreens. At the locations in Canada and in Munich, Germany, we also have the opportunity to adapt the end product individually to customer needs." If specific, technical solutions are required in the field of touchscreens and touch panel controllers, Interelectronix accompanies its customers from the product development phase to after-sales. Kühn: "Thanks to our many years of cross-industry experience, we have a wide variety of solutions at hand. From conceptual design, sampling and test runs to serial delivery and integration consulting, we develop tailor-made touchscreens that are optimally tailored to the requirements, price and batch size."

The GFG ULTRA touch technology is based on a glass film glass construction. This form of resistive touchscreen is also based on ITO (indium tin oxide) coated glass with burned-in conductor tracks, over which the so-called spacer dots are applied. On a double-sided glued gasket there is an ITO-coated foil on which the external borosilicate glass is fixed with a liquid, transparent adhesive. Due to its high boron content, this is extremely resistant to chemicals and temperatures and, in contrast to the polyester surfaces of conventional resistive systems, also brings with it an increased degree of robustness and scratch resistance. Accordingly, the GFG ULTRA touchscreens are suitable for unattended kiosk applications, such as ticket terminals and other ticket vending machines, but also for construction machinery, for example in crane control systems, which must function absolutely reliably in very dusty and dirty environments. GFG systems are also successfully used in particularly harsh industrial environments. The high chemical resistance of the outer micro-glass layer is of great importance, especially in medical and chemical environments.

At the same time, all the advantages of a resistive touchscreen are fully retained: These include operation with finger, pen and even thick work gloves with the usual high reliability as well as easy integration even in EMC-critical areas of application. Interelectronix impresses with state-of-the-art technologies that are constantly being further developed in order to manufacture optimal, future-proof products for discerning customers. Kühn: "The majority of our development projects are customer-specific touchscreens that are optimally adapted to the application. We are one of the few manufacturers who can realize this even with small quantities. Detailed documentation and test protocols are a matter of course in the development process of our products. In this way, we can guarantee our customers reliability and quality of touch screens and touch panel controllers. We place particular emphasis on the accuracy and safety of our products."
