Audi and its virtual cockpit
Audi Q8 at the Detroit Motor Show 2017

For some time now, the car manufacturer Audi has been able to convince customers with its virtual cockpit. More and more models are equipped with a 12.3-inch TFT display. There, all the necessary information (e.g. speedometer, rev counter, consumption, etc.) is presented to the driver directly in front of the driver's nose. The 1140 x 540 pixel resolution ensures precise, sharp images.

The charioteer is free to choose which view he works with. Either the classic instrument view or it switches to infotainment mode. There he can then operate more applications such as the navigation, the telephone or the media applications. Of course, all graphics for the assistance systems are also displayed. The operation is as intuitive and simple as with a smartphone.

Audi Q8 sets new accents

At the 2017 Detroit Motor Show, the manufacturer wants to break new ground with the Audi Q8 and emphasize luxury as well as elegance more strongly. Also as far as the interior is concerned. In the attached video you can see very nicely that the dashboards are characterized by black displays that wake up when the car starts and can be operated like a touchscreen with the help of pushing and swiping movements. The ergonomic shape and correct placement ensures that you can reach them as a rider at any time.

Audi plans to start production of the Q8 SUV Coupé probably in 2018/2019. By 2020 at the latest, the innovative flagship will probably be on our roads.
