Time and cost savings with 3D printing

The use of 3D printing in industrial manufacturing as well as in medical technology is already in full swing. By using 3D printing, the development process as well as rapid prototyping benefit from decisive time and cost savings.

"In the rapidly evolving medical device industry, which is characterized by significant competition, Interelectronix 's customers are increasingly using 3D printing to bring their products to market faster, more efficiently and more cost-effectively." Christian Kühn, Glass Film Glass Technology Expert
The 3D printing technology we use produces components with good surface quality and dimensional accuracy. Based on 3D CAD data, molds for production are either manufactured without tools and fully automatically using the layer construction process in the desired molding material. Or the desired housings and front panels can be printed directly.

Components made of polymethyl methacrylate

The components are created by applying a particle material layer by layer, which is selectively bonded with a binder. The plastic material used is polymethyl methacrylate.

Thanks to the 3D printing process, prototypes can not only be produced very cost-effectively and quickly, but also innovative shapes and housing designs as well as improvements in installation can be tested and implemented.

3D printing is already being used in Interelectronix for mounts in the device for PCAP touchscreens as well as for the creation of housings and front panels made of plastic.
