To install Raspberry Pi OS on a Compute Module 5 with eMMC, you cannot use the microSD slot—it only works on Lite variants. Instead, place a jumper on the IO board’s J2 header to enable USB boot mode. Then, connect the CM5 to your development PC and use the official rpiboot tool to expose the eMMC as a USB drive. From there, you can flash the OS directly to the eMMC using Raspberry Pi Imager.
