What are the advantages of optical bonding?

BEST CONTRASTS - NO REFLECTION

Optical bonding results in two main optical effects:

Improving the contrast Reducing the reflection To improve the optical quality, this process fills the space between the display and the front screen with a transparent material adapted to the optical refractive index of the touch module and the display, thereby significantly increasing the contrast ratio when compared to a non-bonded display.

This results in displays with excellent readability even in extreme lighting conditions, well-defined contrasts and low reflection.

What is the cost of optical bonding?

Optical bonding does not have to be expensive

As a guideline quick calculation, prices lie between 1.5 USD to 3.0 USD per inch of display diagonal. To calculate the approximate price just take the display diagonal in inches and multiply it by 1.5 USD to 3.0 USD. Small displays cost less, large displays cost more.

What are the disadvantages of optical bonding?

Very difficult to repair

With optical bonding, the protective glass or touchscreen glass is glued, visually transparent, to the TFT display. Bonding is difficult to remove and the cost of repair is often not economically viable.
