Surface Capacitive

Surface capacitive touch screens have a conductive ITO coating on the front side. They measure the voltage change when their capacitive field is interfered.

Projected Capacitive

The projected capacitive touch sensor has the ITO layer applied on the backside. The ITO layer projects the capacitive field through the front glass of the sensor.

Important

Gloved hand operation is critical. All conductive gloves will work fine. Thin medical gloves are fairly good to operate if the capacitive field is amplified. As soon as you need gloved and ungloved hand operation or you have to use heavy duty gloves you should consider are different technology like ULTRA.
